What is FlexipolyLiposome?
Liposomes, also known as hollow liposomes, are artificial membrane structures composed of lipids such as lecithin and ceramide. Their bilayer structure closely resembles that of skin cell membranes. In water, the hydrophilic heads of the phospholipid molecules extend into the water while their hydrophobic tails point toward the air. Through stirring, these lipid molecules form spherical liposomes with diameters ranging from 25 to 1000 nanometers. Liposomes have essential applications in drug delivery and gene therapy, serving as drug carriers that utilize their fusion properties with cell membranes to deliver drugs into cells. Polymeric liposomes, a novel nanocarrier system consisting of polymers and lipids with excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, can encapsulate and deliver insoluble drugs. Their core comprises a water-soluble polymer wrapped in a hydrophobic lipid layer, ensuring stable drug packaging and controlled release within the body.
