Structural Biology Research

Inquiry

Since the end of the last century, biomolecule structural analysis by cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has become a new research direction in structural biology. Especially in recent years, due to the rapid development in image processing and analysis, cryo-EM technology has been able to accurately determine the structure of a single protein at an atomic scale. It is predicted that in the next few years, this method may replace the X-ray crystallization and become the most important weapon in structural biology research.

Cryo-EM creates microscopic images of individual molecules by freezing proteins or other biomolecules rapidly and bombarding them with electrons. These images are used to reconstruct the three-dimensional model or structure of molecules. The cryo-EM structures obtained will help reveal how the proteins work, how they function in diseases, and how to target them with drugs.

In recent years, our cryo-EM team has been continuously submitting structural analysis data to the electron microscope database (EMDB). And our cryo-EM strategies can accurately determine the three-dimensional structures of macromolecules and other molecules at a competitive price.
