Petrochemical Analysis

Inquiry

NMR rapid analysis technology can obtain a large amount of physical property data of crude oil and various oil products in a short time, providing accurate and rapid quality reference data for guiding and optimizing the production of petrochemical enterprises. Creative Biostructure can provide customers with analysis and characterization services for petroleum and processed products, catalyst characterization services, and polymer characterization services using liquid and solid NMR technology.

Petrochemical Analysis

Analysis and Characterization of Petroleum and Its Processed Products

Using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to analyze petroleum fractions has become one of the important and indispensable characterization methods.

Fuel oil

  • Aromatic content analysis

Creative Biostructure can use 1H NMR and 13C NMR methods to determine the aromatic content of gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and other fuels for customers.

1H NMR is a method for analyzing the types of hydrocarbons in gasoline. This method does not require sample separation and is fast in analysis.

The hydrogen-type distribution of kerosene can be obtained by 1H NMR method.

  • Determination of cetane number of diesel fuel

We directly connect gas chromatography with 1H NMR method to predict diesel fuel cetane number, cetane index, density, pour point, flash point, viscosity, filterability, combustion heat, cloud point, aromatic content, carbon residue, and Engler distillation data.

Lubricating oil

The combination of 13C NMR and principal component factor analysis can be used for the analysis of lubricating oil base materials.

The aromatic carbon content in the middle distillate of base oil is determined by 1H NMR method.

Heavy oil

We mainly use 13C NMR and 1H NMR techniques to directly give the aromatic hydrogen and aromatic carbon content of the oil in the analysis and characterization of heavy fractions. Combined with the results of elemental analysis, we can also provide the average structural parameters of heavy distillate oil, such as the number of alkane carbon, cycloalkane carbon, aromatic carbon, cycloalkane ring, aromatic ring number, condensation index, etc.

Characterization of Catalysts

The available services of NMR technology in the physicochemical and morphological analysis of catalysts include:

  • Determination of protons on the surface of acidic catalysts.
  • The surface reaction kinetics were analyzed using NMR relaxation time.
  • Analysis of transition metal complexes in oxide catalysts.
  • Medium resolution 13C NMR spectroscopy analysis of adsorbed molecules, etc.

Characterization of Polymer

Our characterization services for polymers using NMR methods mainly take the following forms

  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of blends and terpolymers.
  • Identification of isomers.
  • Characterization of terminal groups.
  • Functional group identification.
  • Homopolymer compliance analysis.
  • Analysis of sequence distribution and isotacticity.

Liquid high-resolution NMR can provide polymer information such as

  • Identification of polymer types. Although polymers generated from different monomers are all macromolecular hydrocarbons, their resonance spectra are not identical.
  • Information about the isomerization of polymer chains is generally divided into three-dimensional configurations, identical, syndiotactic, and random. The chemical shifts of the resonance spectra of different spatial configurations will vary subtly.
  • The 13C NMR spectra of liquids can be used to study polymer microstructure information such as sequence distribution, degree of alternation, and changes in chain activity during polymerization under different reaction conditions.

Creative Biostructure is committed to providing high-quality NMR analysis services to advance the life sciences fields. If you have any questions or needs, please contact us and our customer service staff will help you the first time.
