Mempro™ Plant-Based P-Loop Containing Nucleoside Triphosphate Hydrolase Production
Creative Biostructure has a well-established membrane protein production platform through years of experience, we can provide customized Mempro™ P-loop containing nucleoside triphosphate (NTP) hydrolase production services using plant-based expression system.
P-loop containing NTP hydrolase superfamily, which contains common sequence patterns (two distinct motifs), the Walker A motif (the P-loop proper) and Walker B motif that binds, respectively, the β and γ phosphate moieties of the bound NTP, and a Mg2+ cation. Members of P-loop containing NTP hydrolase superfamily share a P-loop NTPase fold, which is the most prevalent domain of the several distinct nucleotide-binding protein folds. Most reaction catalyzed by the P-loop containing NTP hydrolases is the hydrolysis of the β-γ phosphate bond of a bound NTP. The energy from NTP hydrolysis is typically used to induce conformational changes in other molecules, which constitutes the basis of the biological functions of most P-loop containing NTP hydrolases. It is known that P-loop NTP hydrolase shows substantial substrate preference for either ATP or GTP.

Our proprietary Mempro™ plant-based expression platform holds lots of advantages:
1. low protease activity,
2. low endotoxin,
3. animal-free.
Animal-free recombinant membrane proteins are particularly important for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens. Creative Biostructure is highly-experienced in offering proteins that are free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination.
We provide membrane protein production services based on various types of plants, including tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana), alfalfa (Medicago rativa), Arabidopsis thaliana, potato, maize, barley and lettuce, etc. Moreover, we are capable of performing two different strategies for membrane protein expression in plants: transient expression and stable transformation.
With the Mempro™ plant-based protein production platform, Creative Biostructure can express, isolate, purify and crystallize P-loop containing NTP hydrolases to facilitate the study of their structural and biological functions. And post-translational modification such as glycosylation and disulfide bonds can be introduced in plant-based expression system.
Creative Biostructure can also provide Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services, Mempro™ animal-free recombinant protein production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
