Mempro™ Plant-Based Bcl-2 Inhibitors of Programmed Cell Death Production

Inquiry

Based on the comprehensive membrane protein production platform developed through many years of experience, scientists from Creative Biostructure provides customized Mempro™ Bcl-2 inhibitors of programmed cell death production services using plant-based expression system.

B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2), an apoptosis (cell death) regulator, is encoded in human by the BCL2 gene. It is well known that Bcl-2 is an important anti-apoptotic protein and is thus classified as an oncogene. Bcl-2 family can be divided into two classes of proteins, including pro-death proteins and pro-survival proteins. The pro-death proteins include BCL-2-associated X protein (BAX), BCL-2 antagonist/killer 1 (BAK), BCL-2-associated agonist of cell death (BAD), BCL-2-like 11 (BIM), NOXA, and BCL-2 binding component 3 (PUMA), while the pro-survival proteins include BCL-2, BCL-XL, BCL-2-like 2 (BCL-w), myeloid cell leukemia sequence 1 (MCL-1), and BCL-2-related protein A1 (BFL-1). Members of Bcl-2 inhibitors of programmed cell death superfamily can interact in an inhibitory manner with BCL-2, BCL-XL, and BCL-w. Therefore, Bcl-2 inhibitors of programmed cell death play an important role in clinical development.

Creative Biostructure can produce high-yield Bcl-2 inhibitors with animal-free, low endotoxin, and low protease activity. These animal-free recombinant membrane proteins are particularly crucial for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens. Moreover, our proprietary plant system is free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination.

Of note, we can provide membrane protein production services based on various types of plants, such as Nicotiana benthamiana (tobacco), Medicago rativa (alfalfa), Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana), potato, maize, barley and lettuce.

With the Mempro™ plant-based protein production platform, Creative Biostructure is able to express, isolate, purify and crystallize Bcl-2 inhibitors of programmed cell death to facilitate the study of their structural and biological functions. Misfolding, aggregation, inactivity, poor stability, high endotoxin and solubility, etc. are the common difficulties encountered in cell-based expression system. These difficulties can be overcomed in the renewed plant-based expression system.

Creative Biostructure can also provide Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services, Mempro™ animal-free recombinant protein production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
