Mempro™ Plant-Based Acyl-CoA-binding Protein Production
Creative Biostructure has established a comprehensive membrane protein production platform to produce high-quality Acyl-CoA-binding proteins using plant-based expression system. Our patent plant-based platform has lots of advantages for membrane protein production, including high yield, animal-free, low protease activity, and low endotoxin, etc.
Acyl-CoA-binding proteins (ACBPs) are well known as diazepam binding inhibitors and endozepines, which are the highly conserved lipid carrier protein composed of around 86-102 amino acid residues with an acetylated N-terminus. Strikingly, ACBP is a relative small protein that mainly binds Acyl-CoA esters with high affinity. ACBP plays a significant role in transporting intracellular acyl-CoA and regulating cellular functions, including cell growth, medium-chain acyl-CoA-ester synthesis. From the sequence alignment, ACBP can be divided into four groups: the basic isoform found in bovine liver (l-ACBP), the testis specific isoform (t-ACBP), the third group is found in the brain (b-ACBP) and the fourth group is suggested to be membrane bound protein.

Creative Biostructure is highly-experienced in providing best membrane protein production services using various types of plant hosts, including Nicotiana benthamiana (tobacco), Medicago rativa (alfalfa), Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana), potato, maize, barley and lettuce.
Most notably, Creative Biostructure can perform two different strategies for membrane protein production in plants: transient expression and stable transformation. We can produce animal-free recombinant membrane proteins, which are particularly crucial for customers concerned with experimental variables caused by trace animal components or mammalian pathogens. Recombinant membrane proteins expressed by our plant system are free of animal components, serum, endotoxins and antibiotics as well as human or animal infectious agents or other endogenous mammalian contamination. In addition, post-translational modification such as glycosylation and disulfide bonds can be introduced in plant system.
With the Mempro™ plant-based protein production system, Creative Biostructure is capable of expressing, isolating and purifying ACBPs to facilitate the study of their biological functions. We can overcome the common difficulties encountered in cell-based expression system, such as misfolding, aggregation, inactivity, high endotoxin, poor stability and solubility, etc.
Creative Biostructure can also provide Mempro™ plant-based virus-like particles (VLPs) production services, Mempro™ animal-free recombinant protein production services and Mempro™ membrane protein production services. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed quote.
