Structural Biology Services
Our understanding of life at the molecular level is highly dependent on the ability to map the molecular details of individual proteins and nucleic acids as well as their interactions with each other and with small molecules (inhibitors, cofactors, substrates, etc.). The determination of 3D structures of proteins is crucial for the understanding of these interactions as well as their structure-function relationships, which also has many practical applications in drug design and protein engineering.
Creative Biostructure offers dedicated services aimed to determine the structure of biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and their complexes. With our state-of-the-art facilities, we have developed an all-in-one pipeline including all the stages from construct design to structure determination. Over the years, we have developed four unparalleled platforms, including X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, electron microscopy (EM), and membrane protein screening, to facilitate your research in structural biology. Our scientists have rich experience in solving the structure of various protein targets, such as kinases, polymerases, chaperones, and membrane proteins.

Currently, more than 115,000 protein structures have been deposited into the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and this number keeps growing at an unprecedented speed due to technological advances over the years. Several methods are used to determine the structure of a biomacromolecule, including X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and EM. X-ray crystallography has made the largest contribution to the number of protein structures deposited in PDB. NMR excels at the determination of protein conformations and the study of protein dynamics in aqueous solutions. EM, and particularly Cryo-EM can be used to study relatively large objects such as macromolecular assemblies and complexes. Learn more about the comparison of crystallography, NMR, and EM.
Creative Biostructure takes advantage of the above three technologies and provides relevant services for your structure determination projects. Moreover, we support protein secondary structure analysis and microscopy-related high-resolution imaging solutions. Our structural biologists can also provide you with technical support for structure prediction, structural data processing and interpretation. The integrated structural biology approaches can overcome the shortcomings of individual structural technologies and offer a framework for combining data from multiple structural approaches to form a more complete picture of dynamic biological assemblies.
